Service Description

Have you ever been in a gym class and they reach the core and abs section and you've been asked to bend "this way", or push back until you feel "that" but it's just not working out for you? Or maybe you've told an instructor before class "hey so I have scoliosis, what exercises should I be doing?" and the instructor gives you some vague answer that feels like they don't actually know what scoliosis is. Then this is the workshop for you. It's also for folks who have not had those experiences at all, but are in a larger body (Size 18 AUD and up) and want to upskill their technique and form. Being in a larger body means that your body may move in different ways. Not wrong ways. Just different. So I am hosting this workshop because a lot of workshops and mainstream gym classes teach movements that are not always accessible for larger bodies. In this workshop you will: - learn basic spinal and core anatomy - learn basic biomechanical principles related to the spine and core - understand more about your own posture and alignment - learn accessible exercises and modifications - have a chance to have a qualified personal trainer with an allied health background check in on your form and answer any questions you may have. Registration includes exercise equipment for the day.
